Give yourself an arrival buffer

A long-haul flight and a full mountain day are an uncomfortable combination. Consider a night in your arrival city before collecting the motorcycle. Madrid and Barcelona are starting points for different regions; Valencia is our local base. Choose the arrival that fits the route and confirmed rental logistics, not simply the cheapest fare.

Confirm your licence and rental eligibility

Ask the rental operator to confirm acceptance of your licence and motorcycle endorsement before paying. Check official Spanish guidance on an International Driving Permit and carry it with the original licence when required. Requirements can depend on the document and your circumstances; a translation permit does not replace a valid motorcycle entitlement.

Plan for kilometres, luggage and connectivity

Spain uses kilometres and kilometres per hour. Before departure, learn the controls of your rental, agree luggage capacity and confirm whether your navigation works offline. Check medical and travel cover for motorcycle touring and the machine’s engine size; the rental’s vehicle insurance and your personal travel insurance cover different things.
